Car owners change their cars regularly but as many are reluctant to change their car insurance so often they could be missing out on an opportunity to save money.

Car insuranceAccording to Tescocompare.com, drivers own an average of 9 cars in their lifetime.

But, even during the recession, car owners are missing an opportunity to save money by not changing their car insurance.

There are so many providers competing for business that you can get some great car insurance deals.

You can compare car insurance quotes quickly and easily using a comparsion website, such as Tescocompare.com, Confused.com or Gocomapre.com.

As Debra Williams from Tescocompare says ‘Comparing car insurance on a like for like basis, and not just on price, is an absolute must for drivers of any age, and certainly shouldn’t just be considered when changing car. Using a price comparison service year on year helps drivers get the best deal for their car insurance regardless of the stage of their driving career they are at.’

People change their car for all sorts of reasons but clearly the car scrappage scheme is having some effect as people are taking the opportunity to change their car, either because of necessity or simply desire.

MoneyHighStreet recently did a review of the car scrappage scheme which you might find useful if you are thinking of buying a new car.
