British Gas cuts electricity prices by 10%

British Gas has cut its standard tariff electricity prices by 10%.

British Gas WebSaver3This cut in electricity prices comes into effect immediately and some 4.5 million customers will benefit.

British Gas claims that as a result of this cut it means that ‘on average’ they are the cheapest electricity supplier in Britain.

This reduction will benefit standard tariff customers and makes British Gas the last of the big six energy suppliers to cut electricity prices.

British Gas have also announced that they are replacing their duel fuel WebSaver2 deal with WebSaver3.

Update February 10: British Gas have now launched their new Websaver 6 energy plan.

This offers duel fuel customers a minimum discount of 6% against the standard tariff until August next year.

WebSaver3 is available to both new and existing customers.

It will be interesting to see how the other main energy suppliers react to the British Gas reduction in electricity prices and the introduction of WebSaver3.

Customers may do well to check and compare energy prices online to ensure they are getting the best energy deal in their area.
