Motorists Should Check Comprehensive Car Insurance Cover

Motorists should check the terms of their comprehensive car insurance to make sure that it fully meets their needs, moneysupermarket.com is advising.
moneysupermarket.com examined a number of comprehensive car insurance policies and found that they might not provide the level of cover that motorists thought.
Some policies did not include cover for emergency accommodation or legal cover and opting for these extras could add at least another £70 to the annual premium price.
They also found that premiums could vary by as much as £30 per year, yet provide the same levels of cover.
In the research, moneysupermarket.com found that Kwik Fit Platinum offered all categories of cover including a courtesy car, emergency accommodation and legal cover for a premium of £438.62. In contrast, AXA charges £330.86, but there is no emergency accommodation and legal and breakdown cover attracts additional fees.
“Checking the small print is essential to ensure you opt for a policy that ticks all the necessary boxes. Consider the extra costs you may end up paying for additions such as breakdown cover.”
“If you end up forking out for added extras you might end up paying over the odds at the end of the day. It really does pay to shop around and do the research in order to find the right car insurance policy for you at the best price.”, advises Peter Harrison, car insurance expert at moneysupermarket.com.
