Three has today revamped The One Plan and is now offering unlimited data on their mobile network; much better for smartphone users who won’t need to worry about exceeding a fair usage limit.

3 Mobile Internet unlimited dataThis move by Three to offer unlimited data is a major step forward. As Ernest Doku, communication expert at uSwitch.com, comments “The latest smartphones stretch far beyond the capabilities of a traditional handset.

This tariff will give users the freedom to explore these to the limit without the fear of running up extortionate bills.”

This unlimited data plan will only be available in Britain and is available on Three now.

Customers can also tether which means they can use their mobile phone as a broadband modem for a laptop or PC.

As Ernest Doku adds “When it comes to comparing mobile phone deals, many consumers are simply looking for the most minutes, texts and data for their money.

At £25 a month for thousands of minutes and texts plus truly unlimited data, few can compete with Three’s offering on price.

Nevertheless, consumers should look at their bills and aim to choose a tariff that suits their needs, as well as checking coverage maps to see if their prospective network is actually best able to serve both calls and data.”

MoneyHighStreet.com comment: It will be interesting to see how the other major mobile network operators respond to this move, not least as many have recently curtailed their data limits as they have been unable to cope with the heavy usage from some users.

A good move though by Three and one that will hopefully initiate a move towards cheaper mobile internet use. Time will tell – at least it should help 3 win a few new customers.

  1. Will be interesting to know if this is truly unlimited mobile broadband of if there is traffic management to slow heavy users?
