Bio-diesel is now available. Well done Morrisons!

The recent oil price hikes are making us all re-think how we reduce our energy usage. More people must be switching to bio-diesel than I thought.
Although oil prices have been retracting from their record prices set in early July, many of my friends are talking about how to reduce their energy usage and, of course, costs.
My father noticed, for example, that there are far more bikes outside his local supermarket. More people are cycling to do the shopping instead of hopping into their cars.
If you think about it, this is one of the benefits of high energy costs. We use our cars less, become healthier as we walk and cycle more and save money too.
Oh yes. The environment benefits too.
I was filling our car up at a local Morrisons supermarket this morning (sorry, I hadn’t cycled there!) when I noticed, for the first time, that they were selling bio-diesel.
That tied in with another bio-fuel first today too. I saw a Saab Bio Power car for the first time. It had probably just filled up at the Morrisons petrol station.
So well done, Morrisons.
Not only are you supplying bio-diesel, and it seems very few petrol stations are, but you are encouraging the use of greener fuels, with at least on local driver.
haha wot a load of old xxxx yes they are selling bio derv but they are selling it at the same price as normal derv yet it means more cost cos you have to change filters more often.now i see no reason why they couldnt sell it at £1 a litre but they dont why cos they are greedy thats why as usual the fat cat has come across a way he can take us all for a ride once again.
im all for saving the enviroment but before we can start that we have to get the big picture not just the small one that places like morrisons show us.
all in all its places like morrisons that have ruined this country shopping used to consist of a day traveling around all the shops fruit n veg shop then the butchers then the bakers and so on and so on but now they have all gone apart from a few big business has a lot to answer for.

Well done Morrisons for taking the initiative to launch UK-sourced B30 Bio diesel. Now a lot more people can have the chance to instantly cut their vehicle’s dependency on foreign imported oil by 30%, at no extra cost.

Yep morrissons and biofule ………. I`ve been running my cars on this since the launch but yes BUT the price is going up almost on a weeky basis considering its mostly recycled fuels dont you think that a bit of a rip off on people wanting to look after the envioroment ????
a bit of a con, we use 30% less fossil fuel,. but, as bio contains water we will get less MPG, have to change the filter more on the car all for the same price, Who will win by being green? not the motorist/end user. we will pay more per mile and more for servicing. also bio has less tax attached to it, so the supermarket fat cat shareholders benefit from the lets be green speel they keep trying to brain wash us with. recently in the budget fuel tax went up and the reason given by parliment was because we are using less fuel they had a shortfall to make up, so if we all go green they will just keep taxing us, the price of fuel is not a problem the government tax policy is, vote today not labour!!!!!
Biodiesel contains far less water than hydrocarbon diesel and it’s this ‘dryness’ that absorbs the water film that sits at the bottom of your fuel tank thus killing the microbial bacteria which live in it. This is the cause of filter blockage when first using biodiesel in an uncleaned tank. Calorific value is much the same as hydrocarbon but lubrication is improved, so performance shouldnt differ too much.
well short memory have we here the bloody tories introduced .the poll tax .vat .closed down the mines. sold off the gas .electric and other public owned firms.took us into the raving stark mad europe @a mega cost just to be a member. and ran down the national health to introduce pr patient insurance .which back fired cause labour got in ,and introduced help for the porer people with tax credits .child benifit .reduced taxes and tried to please all by clearing the torie national debt,and people like you want the tories back without even weighing up the facts .it will be a sad sad day if they get back in ,but you know better .or do you …..les

I also thought it was great for Morrisons to take the initiative and have been filling up with Bio since they sold it, but to my dismay last week the bio diesel pumps at both the Coventry Sites were tagged out of order.
yesterday I found out why. i was told hat Morrisons have decided to discontinue the Bio Diesel the reason is that the government have cancelled the tax incentive and it would now rise to the same price as normal fossil diesel, there fore the decision has been made to discontinue the product.
every turn that enables the consumer to act for the safety of the planet once agian comes down to money tax back for Morrisons and the Government.
another true picture of the money grabbing politicians we allow to run our country. I would rather waste a vote in the election than vote any of the so called politicians and their parties in to power, they say what the electorate wants to hear to get in then do a 180 degree to line and feather thier own nests financially whilst stitching up the electorate with high taxes and costs of living, high fuel prices.
